As the holiday season approaches, Uber is preparing for a record-breaking Thanksgiving period with new features aimed at easing airport travel.
With crowded terminals and packed schedules on the horizon, the ride-hailing giant is introducing several updates designed to streamline the travel experience for passengers.
New UberXXL Service Targets Larger Groups and Extra Baggage
One of the most notable updates is the launch of UberXXL, a service catering to travellers with larger groups or extra baggage. The new offering provides vehicles with expanded boot space and more spacious seating, ideal for airport pick-ups and drop-offs.
UberXXL is now available at over 60 airports globally, including London Heathrow and major hubs in the US and Canada, with future expansion plans. As part of a special promotion, Uber One members can earn $20 Uber Cash on UberXXL rides taken between November 20 and December 1.
Cost-Effective Travel with UberX Share
For budget-conscious travellers, Uber is rolling out UberX Share at select airports.
This service allows riders to share a ride with one other passenger, offering savings of up to 25% off the regular UberX fare.
Available at airports in cities like Miami, Denver, Washington D.C., and international locations such as Amsterdam and Madrid, UberX Share provides a more affordable option for airport transfers.
Uber Reserve Enhances Travel Planning
Uber is also improving its Uber Reserve service with new tools to help passengers plan their airport trips more effectively. The Flight Capture tool lets users input flight details and receive recommendations on when to depart for timely arrivals.
In addition, flight-tracking integration will notify passengers of delays and offer flexible ride options to adjust accordingly. The service now allows for multiple stops, making it easier to accommodate additional errands during the busy holiday season.
