Similar incidents have been reported, including a private hire driver fined £867 for illegal tyres and an unlicensed vehicle, underscoring the importance of strict enforcement in the industry.
Authorities Warn Taxi Drivers
Officials stress the importance of regular vehicle checks to maintain road safety. A Liverpool City Council Licensing spokesperson stated:
"Liverpool Licensing Officers discovered this LCC Taxi operating this afternoon with one of its front tyres in this condition - there is no excuse for it- It only takes a few minutes to check your tyres!"
Driver Faces Action
The taxi’s licence was suspended immediately. The spokesperson stated:
"Vehicle licence suspended, and driver to be reported for the offence."
