A taxi driver was reportedly assaulted and scammed by two women in Moordown in the early hours of January 17. According to reports, the driver picked up the passengers from the town center and took them to their requested destination. Upon arrival, they asked to be driven to Andover but refused to pay upfront. When the driver confronted them, they allegedly attacked him and used abusive language. Incidents involving taxi driver assaults are not uncommon, as seen in a recent case where a drunk passenger attacked a taxi driver in Newcastle’s Bigg Market.
Police are investigating the incident and have released images of the suspects.
Police community support investigator Craig Evans of Bournemouth police said:
"We have been continuing to investigate this incident and are now in a position to issue images of two women we would like to identify."
Authorities urge anyone with relevant information to contact Dorset Police or report anonymously through Crimestoppers.
