Amberine secured an office in Westgate, Bradford, marking the beginning of operations for the new fleet. The service prioritizes women, children, and vulnerable residents, with drivers empowered to decline rides if they are uncomfortable. The fleet is expected to be operational by mid-January, with bright pink vehicles ensuring high visibility.
Safety Concerns as a Driving Force
The idea of launching a taxi firm driven by women being launched in Bradford to help make women and children feel safer stemmed from Amberine’s personal experiences. As a single parent, she felt unsafe allowing her daughter to travel in standard taxis.
Amberine explained:
"There wasn’t any sort of service that I felt was safe enough for my daughter. Previously, when we lived down south, I trusted the drivers from our own taxi firm. But after moving, I didn’t feel the same level of confidence."

Amberine’s Pink Ladies fleet has been operating successfully in Skipton for over a year. The Bradford service will follow a similar model, catering primarily to women and children. However, couples may also be accommodated, depending on driver preferences.
