A Bournemouth taxi driver was attacked after two women allegedly refused to pay their fare. Police are investigating and seeking public assistance in identifying the suspects.

A Bournemouth taxi driver was assaulted by two female passengers who allegedly refused to pay their fare and then turned violent. The incident took place around 5 a.m. on Friday, 17 January, in Moordown after the driver had transported the women from the town centre. A similar case has been reported, with authorities actively working to identify the suspects involved in the Moordown taxi driver assault.
Upon reaching their destination, the passengers requested an additional journey to Andover but refused to make an upfront payment. When they attempted to flee without paying, the driver confronted them, leading to a physical and verbal altercation. While the driver did not sustain serious injuries, the police have launched an appeal for public assistance in identifying the suspects.
Police Community Support Investigator Craig Evans of Bournemouth police stated:
"We have been continuing to investigate this incident and are now in a position to issue images of two women we would like to identify."
Dorset Police urge anyone who recognises the suspects to come forward. Reports can be made via the police website or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55250007651. Alternatively, anonymous tips can be submitted to Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
